
In its ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of higher education and align academic programs with labor market needs, the College of Dual Studies at Palestine Polytechnic University held its first academic conference titled “The Reality, Challenges, and Future Prospects of Dual Studies.” The event gathered ministers, academic experts, private sector representatives, and supporting institutions, alongside university faculty members and students.
The conference opened with a keynote speech by the Chairman of the University Board of Trustees, H.E. Ahmad Saeed Al-Tamimi, who praised the university’s pioneering role in developing dual education and highlighted its importance in equipping students with essential practical skills.
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, H.E. Dr. Amjad Barham, emphasized the government’s strategic focus on expanding dual education as a viable solution to bridge the gap between academic learning and market demands. He stressed the need for partnerships with the private sector and curriculum development tailored to the evolving economy.
The event featured three panel discussions addressing key themes: challenges facing dual education in times of crisis, sustainability and quality assurance in dual studies, and the critical link between academic institutions and the private sector.
The conference also included student success stories and a dedicated exhibition showcasing collaborative projects between students and industry partners, reflecting the tangible impact of dual education on skill development and employability.
