As part of its first academic conference titled “The Reality, Challenges, and Prospects of Dual Studies,” Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU) hosted three dynamic panel discussions that addressed critical themes shaping the future of dual education in Palestine.

1. Panel 1: “Dual Studies: A Bridge to Private Sector Needs”

Moderated by Ms. Ayyat Abideen, this session featured a diverse group of speakers including representatives from the private sector, academia, and international development organizations. The panel emphasized the importance of aligning academic programs with the evolving needs of the labor market, enhancing student employability, and strengthening partnerships between universities and the private sector.

2. Panel 2: “Ensuring Quality and Sustainability”

Led by Ms. Sawsan Jaajaa, the session focused on strategies to uphold quality standards and ensure the sustainability of dual studies programs. Key stakeholders, including representatives from the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission and local government, discussed national frameworks, institutional readiness, and the role of municipalities in supporting educational innovation.

3. Panel 3: “Challenges of Dual and Higher Education Amid Crises”

Moderated by Eng. Thaer Al-Atrash, this session explored how crises such as political instability, economic hardships, and rapid technological change affect higher education. Distinguished speakers, including the Minister of Higher Education Dr. Amjad Barham, Minister of Industry Mr. Arafat Asfour, and other academic and private sector leaders, offered insights into adaptive strategies, policy recommendations, and innovation in educational planning.

Each panel included student voices, further highlighting the real-world impact of dual studies on learners’ personal and professional development. The university reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening dual education by fostering collaboration across sectors, advancing curriculum reform, and promoting experiential learning.
